His parents don’t report him missing until Friday. But oops! He really left home Monday, they finally admit to the FBI. Then, after a month of searching, the waters in the reserve subside enough to allow a wider search. Mom and Dad come along, and (wonder of wonders) they veer off the trail alone and find his missing dry bag. But they don’t leave it where it was found because there are reporters around. So they bring it to the police, who shoo Mom and Dad away because remains were found near the bag..
